Default Price Drop

I was reading on joystiq that there will be a $50 price drop on the Premium 360s bringing the price to $349. I think I may pick one up at this price around the holidays. Hopefully by this time they'll have the hardware problems sorted out.

The hardware issues are already sorted out. The problems are with the old boxes from within the first six months of release - I bought mine in September 2006 and haven't had one issue. I also know at least five people who purchased theirs around the same time and they have had no issues either.

So you guys think it would be safe to get one soon? I just don't want to have to send it in for repairs and have to deal with customer service.

I've heard a lot of RROD stories on some message boards (the head editor from Kotaku has had 9 systems fail on him  ) and I have to admit those have me a little hesitant.

If you guys say they're reliable though, I'll go on your word over theirs any day.

Well im not going to lie, my first wasnt reliable, but if you just see this as an unlucky pick at the Game shop then i say go get one.

The customer services were great once i got past the argueing that it was my 360 broken and not my scratch free games playing up

I suggest you get one, it getting alot more fun talking about how i beat everyone on here

Don't worry about the RROD, it has a 3 year warranty for that.

I find the $50 price drop kind off strange, I think a $100 one would have made a much larger impact, I also read the rumor that Best Buy is going to stop selling Core Packages, so does that mean that the 360 core will go the way of the 20 GB PS3?

it should be safe getting one now, the clerk at the store I got mine from said it was a new stock with hardware problems resolved, 3 year warranty is good enough for me anyway

Is this a fact? If so, that would be great because the date on my 360 says 9-18-2006. I don't want to have to send it in, but if I do it's not a huge deal since I'll be getting LIVE for another month for free.
