It doesn't matter how reliable something is there will always be failures. When I said the problem was fixed, I wasn't making the new 360's out to be fail-proof, just that they were no longer worse than any other piece of hardware. They now have normal failure rates in other words, as opposed to stupid ones which they had previously.

Well, I got the RROD not too long ago... oddly it went away after I unplugged and plugged it back in. I recken I'll get the RROD again, though, shorty. Not sure how it went away.

Spoke too soon it seems. The irony of my situation is almost tangible.
Over the last few days my 360 has been hanging for no real reasons, mainly when it's been on for over five hours. However, today it hung 3-4 times in the space of about twenty minutes when I first turned it on. I unplugged all the cables and left it a few hours, plugged it back in and after a 15 second pause with no action, the red ring of death rears it's ugly head. It now does it virtually every time I turn it on and, even when it doesn't, it only lasts for about 45 seconds before it hangs. And to make matter worse, spoke to MS and have been told 20-25 working days for return. A month in other words with no Xbox and even worse NO F*****G BIOSHOCK DEMO!!! ![]() ![]()

Oh man, what a shame Pagnell, it's pretty ironic to say the least...oh and maybe it's going to take a month because its free to repair/replace...anyway best of luck for the next 3 weeks of no gaming...but hey look at the bright side, your getting a new 360 just in time for the gaming marathon known as Halo 3 release date...

I'm sure you don't send the HDD in, if it's like the Zune, which I'm assuming it would be, you send JUST the 360 in, no cable, remotes, or accessories.
Also, who else has preordered Halo 3? I have, and I know Weezer has. One last thing, what you could do it go buy another 360 with a month or more of in store warranty and than when you get your 360 back take the one you bought back to the store and say you need the money more than the 360 or something. |

Yes Des, aleady tried it without the disk and it makes no difference. Really f*cked up now - it doesn't start at all. Looks like a return is the only course of action.
Waiting for the DHL return labels to be sent out and I have to find a box that is a suitable size.
