This is a common problem with the 360 and certain drives - I had the same issue. Just position it horizontally and the issue goes away.

I recently moved my 360 to the normal horizontal position and I must admit it seems much quieter... maybe the sound is muffled i don't know but there is less drive noise that's for certain.

I dunno what I'm going to do, I talked to the guy at gamestop, he said that if I'm playing a game, and there's even the SLIGHTEST vibration, that it could knock the disc of it's track or something and put a HUGE scratch in the disc, so I think that I might just leave it, and have it vertical

Yep I learnt that the hard way when I wrecked my Dead Rising disk afterI acidentally knocked my 360 like a millimetre.

Yeah, okay, so it's probably best that I have it on it's side. The PS3 and 360 fit perfectly in my entertainment system.

If you want to avoid vibration and the disk being scratched, lay it horizontally. Like I said, this also removed the problem of the draw not opening - mine hasn't done it once in two months now. When I used to have it vertical, it was happening at least a quarter of the times I was trying to eject the tray. Also, As Des says, it also seems to make it quieter too. I suspect because, when vertical, the drive is at the top as far away from the surface as possible and therefore more prone to vibration.

I too have had some scratches appear on the disks and these are due to the disks 'wobbling' in the verticle tray... since it has been horizontal there is no 'wobbling' sound from the disk draw.

Oh, I read his post wrong, I thought he said he had his vertical and it was quieter.

I'm set for 2 months on gold(hopefully) I just bought a 1 month gold off gamerslagoon with my points, so hopefully the card/code they send me works, if not, it was only a waste of about an hour, no big.

I can't wait to get a game. I rented Rainbow Six: Vegas, but I suck at it, I'm more of the go out there and shoot the hell out of everything that moves type person. I plan on going over to my mom's house later to search for Halo 2.

If you are that type of person on rainbow six then i would suggest the XM shotgun - it is fully automatic. But is branded the n00b-cannon.

I use the Famas myself, superb accuracy, or the M8.
