No, why would they only have the Elite (480 dollars) and take out the Premium, the best bang for your buck? The Core is an absolute joke.

The Elite is virtually completely pointless in my opinion. They should have included some type of HD drive as standard (either Blu-ray or HD-DVD) and had the HDMI as the latest version. As it is, I wouldn't waste my money on it.

THe only reason I would get it is because of the black finish and the larger harddrive. I don't have an HDTV, so HDMI isn't that big of a deal for me.

You will be able to buy the hard disk separately and get a third party case replacement and face plate to make a normal 360 look identical to a Elite. My TV has two HDMI sockets but as it is only 1080i (the 1080p version was over £400 more - f*ck that), there isn't much point losing sleep over the normal 360 not supporting the cable. Component is more than adequate.

Yep, but it isn't something I would do anyway - I like my 360 exactly as it is.

Just to let you know, the Elite is not a limited edition. There was a rumor about that when it was first anounced, but later it was said that its a permanent system and they will continue to make the other 2 as well. There are no plans on removing any of the 360 versions as of now.

About the $250 price, I have never heard anything about that, if you have a link, please show me.
