Juggler you could try a technique I've used to better myself at playing a real guitar, every now and again while at work/home/car/airport/ ANYWHERE!! place your hand flat on a surface and then proceed to raise and lower your middle finger, say twice a second - this will teach your pinky to be more independent.
It does work, before I couldnt for the life of me hold a note with my pinkie but after a few days of doing this excercise I've improved greatly.

Hey cheers fella... will give that a try.... any help is appreciated... but with my luck people will think I have a nervous tick in my hand hahahahahaha
I was taking private acoustic guitar lessons (many years ago at school) but they clashed with my Rugby team practise so I gave them up... shame that really on reflection. Des  |

I wasn't that good with my pinkies at first, either. Getting that blue button down was tough at first (same with the orange button). My method: keep playing. The more you play, the better you get lol. There are songs that I thought I'd never be able to beat, so I went back and tried getting better scores on ones that I already beat and found it a little easier to play those tough songs.
So stop biting your pinkies and just play!

hahaha that biting your fingers thing is something I remember from my childhood and I recall it was a prank to make some poor unsurspecting kiddie have serious pain in their fingers :?
The more I play the better my control of the alien attachment called my pinky gets. Des  |

WOOHOOO! Just beat GH2 on EXPERT
It was hard as hell but I kept trying. Freebird really isn't the hardest song on there. I spent mor time on Misrlou than Freebird. My little brother was watching and as soon as I got past the part I would normally fail at I yelled for my bigger brother (Who could NEVER beat it) and we all sat and watched as I was crowned the guitar god...LOL
