They couldnt make it much cheaper than the ps3 itself?

So then Sony make the bluray drive for the ps3 which costs them close to $600 then the rest is made with the remaining $50?

I cant see your logic here, the blu ray drive wouldnt be no more than half the budget to make the ps3, if anything the cell processors are the rather expensive part. We are just going to have to wait and see.

Check out the exchange rate fella... the Dollar is WEAK compared to Sterling and ALWAYS has been....

I think what you people are forgetting is that Microsoft CAN and WILL take an economic hit if they have to. If they feel the need to push the Blu-Ray, then they will make it as cheap as possible to garner consumers.

well considering they sell for $600 in the US which is roughly £300 yet we pay £425 I think its fair to say they are making up that £100 on each sale.
