Default HalfLife creators slag PS3

In a recent article it was reported that Gabe Newell, head honcho of Valve software and former employee of Microsoft (among the pc gaming elite squad for the Half life fancise) told game Informer magazine...

"The PS3 is a total disaster on so many levels, I think it's really clear that Sony lost track of what customers and developers wanted. I'd say, even at this late date, they should just cancel it and do a 'Do OVER' just say, 'This was a horrible disaster and were sorry, and were going to stop selling this and stop trying to convince people to develop for it."

OUCH!!!, and that coming from such a prominant developer, that's gotta sting pretty hard for Sony. But it is understood that the HalfLife Orange box is also scheduled for a PS3 release as well.
So that is a few high flyers in the gaming industry that have publicly slagged the PS3... I would love to know what is going on out of sight of the publics eyes between the developers and Sony to **** off these guys.

The more this banter carries on the better for us gamers... the proces will drop the developers will be given encenbtives to produce bigger better games.... as I said better for all us gamers.

This is not a slag of the PS3 just a report of an article.... DO NOT start a mine is better than yours thread here ok....

I believe the problem is that the chipset is not too friendly for developers to programme... I could be wrong on this but I believe that is the case.

Also while in the UK a softwares store assistant told me that Halo 3 will also be released on the PS3!!! not sure if this is true or not as Sony would be gloating about it if it was... anyone else heard this???

No havent heard that, and dont believe it either. Why would microsoft hand over one of its best selling games ever, to its rival?

Yeah i heard that the 9 proccessors or whatever make it difficult, but i was wondering if there was more reasons.

Is Halo a Microsoft produced title then? if this is the case then the salesperson was talking out of his backside.

With the public slagging that some of these high flyers seem to be doing I am wondering if something is happening behind the scenes that we are not privvie too.

Yes it was produced by "Microsoft game studios", and yes he was talking out of his backside, all those sales people know less than the shirt they are wearing.

I think there are private affairs going on in the gaming world. What it is i dont know.

Bungie made Halo. It was a major hit. Microsoft bought Bungie to keep Halo an Xbox-only title. Halo 2 comes out. Major hit. Halo 3 announced for XBOX 360 ONLY. More pre-orders than any other game.

They have to, otherwise Bungie would go "We have gold on our hands" and license it out to every system imaginable. I wouldn't be suprised if the Atari got a version.
