Default Oblivion

I know that lots of people have played this and lots, including me, put it back in the cupboard after a few hours, bored with it.

Anyway as I have been on a llloooonnnngggg Christmas break I decided to give it some stick... also that it won best video game of 2006.

Well some 139 hours later I the game is completed.... Main quest completed after 83 hours then every other quest completed after 139 hours.
Looking back I guess I could have done it quicker but I do not like to leave any stone unturned so if I am in a cave I search all of the cave etc even if I have found what I was supposed to have found in the cave I still complete the search.

I have been playing computer games for well over 26 years and have spent many many hours playing games but never this amount of time on one single player game.

If your into adventure games with a hack and slash element then this is for you.... lots of quests lots of upgrading armour and changing your wears for the quest at hand.

Figured I'd resurrect this thread instead of starting a new one.

Just got this game about an hour ago and I'm getting ready to play it. It sounds like a great game... I'll find out if it really is.

Well, since this topic was brought back, might as well ask about the heat issues. I remember hearing that this game made the 360 run hotter than ever, this was also the main reason that I didn't get it for PS3, I'm afraid of it going nuclear on me. Any news on that?

I played it for three hours straight and my 360 wasn't any hotter than it normally would be.

You don't have to worry about it for the PS3. I have the game and have played it for at least 8 hours straight and have had no overheating issues.

The lagging issue was with the first version.. it seemed to fill the memory of the 360 so it was almost unusable. But that is ok now I believe the auto updates sorted that all out... I know I had that problem to start with but after an update all was well.

As for the heat issue... anything you play for more than eight hours straight will cause your 360 to get hot!!! no this is not an issue and to my knowledge was not a real issue to start with.

Have spent over 170 hours on this game... takes a little time to get into it but once hooked it's a really good game.

Hope you have fun with it.

Agreed, the first 20 or so hours are a little slow paced, but once you start leveling up the game gets REALLY good.

No, I meant specifically Oblivion. I remember reading multiple complaints from people that this game made their 360 overheat. It was also because of this game that people found out about the extra cooler (I think its Nyko), actually causes the system to run even hotter.

Yeah, that Nyko thing's a piece of crap. You'd think they'd be smart enough to stop selling a product that does the exact opposite of what it's meant to do.
