I can MAKE my XBOX360 have a red light...it's nothing special. All you do is turn it on with the A/V plug not plugged in, and BOOM you got yourself a flashing red light...(which, at first, scared the sh*t out of me)

As for the ones that are really screwed up...I have no idea. Try that tray thing, (I can't see it hurting anything)

lol, I can! *sticks fingers in the CD tray* *CD tray chops 'em off* But that wouldn't happen unless your Xbox 360 is possessed by the devil. :P

I have not heard of mass 360 deaths at all... there were some units that over heated when they were launched but no big deal.

Had mine for ages... with no worries... my first unit slowed down enough that I took it back and exchanged it but looks like a bug with one of the games meant that it filled the cache out enough that the unit just stopped!!! go figure...

I have found the 360 to be a solid work horse that just does not complain even after twelve hour gaming sessions.... had a few of them recently.

I've found that the PS3 rarely has over heating problems, and doesn't start complaining till it's been in use for about 30 hours in a hot room.

Or you could try this.

The three lights don't point to a specific issue but rather a hardware failure of some sort that prevents the system from working. For eample, it would show exactly the same thing for both a CPU failure and/or memory failure.

Check out Microsoft's help page for this.
