Damn Des...5th one...that sucks...oh and on topic, I haven't heard that the elite helps too much, even though it was supposed to.

Am now running an intercooler (newer self powered unit) and all is running very cool now... will be getting air con in the den this year so that issue will be mute (fingers crossed).

Red face

Hey no worries.... just to update it seems that ms are using what is called green solder on all of the 360 connections... with the amount of solder they must use this is a great thing for them todo as it reduces the amount of bad chemicals that are used and end up in the atmosphere/water supplies etc..... BUT... the bad news is that it is not so good when it comes to heat... it melts/boils at a much lower temperature so when your 360 runs hot the little joints and lines start to go all soft and gooey.... thats bad.

From what I have been told a cooler set of internals is supposed to be coming along soon enough but will just be moved into the production runs as a new batch and not as a new launch machine.

To combat this try and keep your 360 ventilated at all times... have the unit on something cool... as opposed to ontop of a hot tv. I have recently got an intercooler with it's own power supply. This works a real treat in keeping the 360 cool... yep it's bloody noisey but I just crank up the volume hahahahaha
I have the habit of leavig the intercooler running for about 10 mins after I turn the 360 off just to make sure the unit is really cool.
