Downgrading from 1.51 and 1.52 to 1.5
Files needed:

2.00 EBOOT file

Upgrade tutorial
  1. You will first need to upgrade your PSP to version 2.00 so that you can use the 2.0 to 1.5 downgrader. To do this, first download the 2.00 eboot file above.
  2. Next, upgrade your PSP to version 2.00 using the 2.00 eboot you just downloaded with the upgrade tutorial. Don't use the PSP's network update feature.
  3. After you have upgraded to 2.00, the next step is to downgrade to version 1.50. Use the tutorial below to downgrade.
Downgrading from 2.71 to 1.5
Files needed:

2.71 Downgrader FULL
  1. Download and save 2.71 Downgrader FULL to your PC.
  2. Run Downgrader2.71Full like a normal program from your computer
  3. Select your language and press OK
  4. Read the notice and press Next.
  5. Wait for "Sponsored by" image to fade, check that your PSP is NOT a TA-082 PSP, check this by using the provided image, click the image then Yes if your PSP is compatible.
  6. Click OK to accept responsibility in the rare event your PSP bricks
  7. Connect your PSP to the PC via USB, enable USB mode on your PSP.
  8. On the PC, open "My Computer" and check which letter is given to your PSP, highlight the correct letter on the PC and click Next.
  9. The downgrader will now wright the files to your Memory stick. Once prompted, disconnect USB, click OK, click Next and on to the downgrade.
  10. Connect PSP to the AC adapter, and make sure your charge is more than 75%
  11. Go to the Photo menu, when it opens a red screen appears, if it dosent restart the psp and try again. When the red screen appears your memory stick light will blink, whilst its doing this leave your psp until the screen goes blank.
  12. Your PSP should switch off, turn back on and a data corrupt message will appear. This is fine, press O to continue to configuration.
  13. After configuration, go to System > Sytem Settings > System Information. If all has gone well you will be on 1.5, reformat your memory stick to delete all installation files. Enjoy!!
Downgrading from 2.8 to 1.5
Files needed:
HEN for 2.8
2.80 Downgrader
1.50 EBOOT

Installing HEN 2.8
  1. Download HEN 2.8 above, and unzip the folder using Winrar or similar.
  2. Copy all contents of "MS_ROOT" folder, to the topmost folder of the momory stick. Click replace on all files, this will not delete nothing.
  3. Start your PSP and go to PHOTO and open the HEN_280 folder, if it freezes or shows a red screen, just restart your psp. If it turns pale blue then the files have been written correctly and your psp will restart.
TIP: If the HEN dosent run straight away, press triangle and run the slideshow.

Test that HEN is working by starting the included Cube demo found in Game.
Installing 2.80 Downgrader
  1. Download 2.80 Downgrader and unzip the folder using Winrar or similar.
  2. Copy the contents of MS_ROOT into the top most folder of your memory stick.
  3. Download official 1.50 EBOOT, rename it to "UPDATE.PBP" and place in PSP>GAME>UPDATE.
  4. Run 2.80 HEN if not already running. If you have a TA-082 (Check here) you will need to run the 2.80 ID storage changer found in Game.
  5. Run the downgrader, shown as "Update X.YX" on the psp.
  6. Press X to restart psp, on blue screen press O, enter your settings, and you have a 1.50 PSP.
Downgrading from 3.03 to 1.5
Files needed:
3.03 Downgrader
1.50 EBOOT

A copy of UNPATCHED version of GTA LCS, has 2.0 update on it.
  1. Copy the contents of the folder MS_ROOT from the 3.03 downgrader ZIP to the memory stick.
  2. Unzip the 1.50 EBOOT, rename the EBOOT.PBP to UPDATE.PBP and copy it to PSP>GAME>UPDATE

  4. It should get to loading savegame, then the screen will clear to black and fill with a light blue colour, then the PSP will reset itself.
  5. Check that HEN is running by going to system settings, then to "System Information" and it should show up as system version 303 HEN.
  6. If it is showing up as HEN then go to the memory stick and run UPDATE X.YZ
  7. If you have an unpatched TA-082 or higher motherboard, you will be prompted to allow the downgrader to patch your motherboard so it can be safely downgraded. The downgrader will not let you proceed without patching, if your motherboard requires it.
  8. Before the downgrader does anything to your PSP it will ask for you to agree to what it is doing, if you no longer want to continue press the Right Shoulder Button (R-TRIGGER).
  9. Once you have agreed to start the downgrade do not unplug the PSP, or try and restart it. Once finished the PSP will ask you to press X, and reset itself.
  10. If it comes up saying that the settings are corrupt, press x to continue, this will mean you will need to re-enter the settings for network connections into your PSP.
  11. Load the included NetConfigBackup application in your PSP, and select to restore, this will take the backup that was done of the network config that was done automatically during the downgrade.
  12. You now have a 1.50 PSP
Downgrading from 3.50 to 1.5

Here is a guide for downgrading any current PSP hardware version
(TA-079 - TA-086) from firmware 3.50 to 1.50.

VERY IMPORTANT:
If you have a TA082+ motherboard and you downgrade to 1.50,
currently you will be unable to upgrade to 3.30+ Sony firmware. This is due to Sony blocking updates when the PSP has been modified to run 1.50. There will be an application released later which will allow users to revert the changes. If you are using a TA082 motherboard then I would suggest just using 1.50 or OE until an application is released.

Files needed:
PSP 3.50 Downgrader (Package)
1.50 EBOOT
3.50 EBOOT

Lumines (EU or US version only currently)
  1. If you have a 3.50 PSP skip to step 6
  2. Download 3.50 update from here: File Details-PSP-Firmware-3.50-(North-America)-PSP -
  3. Unzip and place the file in <pspdrive>:/PSP/GAME/UPDATE
  4. On the PSP, run the 3.50 update from the memory stick under the Game menu.
  5. Delete <pspdrive>:/PSP/GAME/UPDATE
  6. Copy the contents of the folder MS_ROOT from the 3.50 downgrader ZIP to the memory stick
  7. Unzip the 1.50 update to a temporary folder. Rename the EBOOT.PBP to UPDATE.PBP and copy it to <pspdrive>:/PSP/GAME/UPDATE/ . DO NOT OVERWRITE PSP/GAME/UPDATE/EBOOT.PBP!
  8. Load Lumines and press x to start the game
  9. The screen will clear to black and fill with a light blue colour, then the PSP will reset itself
  10. Check that HEN is running by going to system settings, then to "System Information" and it should show up as system version 350 HEN
  11. If it is showing up as HEN then go to the memory stick and run the x.yz update
  12. If you have an unpatched TA-082 or higher motherboard, you will be prompted to allow the downgrader to patch your motherboard so it can be safely downgraded. The downgrader will not let you proceed without patching, if your motherboard requires it.
  13. Before the downgrader does anything to your PSP it will ask for you to agree to what it is doing, if you no longer want to continue press the Right Shoulder Button (R-TRIGGER).
  14. Once you have agreed to start the downgrade do not unplug the PSP, or try and restart it
  15. Once finished the PSP will ask you to press X, and reset itself
  16. If it comes up saying that the settings are corrupt, press x to continue, this will mean you will need to re-enter the settings for network connections into your PSP.
  17. Load the included NetConfigBackup application in your PSP, and select to restore, this will take the backup that was done of the network config that was done automatically during the downgrade.

Default Downgrading from all firmwares

Pandora's Battery - Despertar del Cementerio v5

What is it?

A universal PSP unbricker and CFW installer.

It´s a set consisting of a Jigkick Battery and a Magic Memory Stick which will allow you to:
  • Unbrick any Classic PSP (PSP-100* Model) and Slim&Lite PSP (PSP-200* Model).
  • Upgrade any Classic PSP (PSP-100* Model) and Slim&Lite PSP (PSP-200* Model) from any SONY official firmware (i.e. 3.95) or CFW (i.e. 3.40 OE) to 3.90 M33-3 CFW (Currently the latest CFW by Dark_Alex)
Requirements

In order to obtain one you will need the following:
  • Any PSP already running Custom Firmware (such as OE, M33 or WC). It can be a Classic or Slim&Lite PSP as long is already running any CFW. We said compatible because not all makes will work (Read the Compatibility Section bellow). Using a spare is best, as it will not be possible to boot the PSP in its normal state once the battery has been modified, although there is a "trick" if you only have one battery (Explained further down).
  • A (spare) Memory Stick Pro Duo. At least a 128MB and max 2GB Memory Stick is required to hold all the necessary applications.
  • Kernel_Kevs_Complete_Pandora_Pack
Compatibility

Memory card
  • They MUST be PRO Duo. As long as it's PRO Duo it should work. Memory Stick Duo will NOT work.
  • They MUST be able to hold all the required files (At least 128MB). No larger than 2GB as they cause problems.
Battery
  • Compatible:
    - Sony PSP-100, 1800mAh, 3.6v - Normally bundled with PSPs.
    - Sony PSP-280, 2200mAh, 3.6v.
    - Datel Go Max GM100, Reusable Battery Pack. USes 3xAAA batteries. The serial resets itself to zeroes once the bateries are removed.
    - Datel X2, 3600maH
    - Datel MAX Power, 1800maH, 3.6v (Two models, Black [Model No LB1000] and Silver)
    - Sony PSP Slim Battery, 1200mAH, 3.6v, PSP-S110 (As long as you do not use the Pandora's Battery Creator. Use
  • Not compatible
    - MEGA Lithium, 2600 mAh, 3.6v
    - Sony (Fake) PSP-280, 2200mAh, 3.6v
    - Unknown brand TYP-107, 3600mAh, 3.6v (Gold Letters)
    - Unknown brand PSP-360, 3600mAh, 3.6v (Silver Letters)
Before you start
  • If you have a PTF custom theme set, remove it before we continue.
  • This application requires running under a CFWwith 2.x or 3.x kernel, therefore make sure that the kernel selected in recovery menu is the correct one (2.x or 3.x depending on the CFW you're running.) To changethis, hold the right shoulder button down whilst turning the psp on. Navigate to configuration and press X to change the option.
Creating the magic memory stick
  • Use your PSP to format your memory card. Connect your psp to PC via USB.
  • Download my pandora pack linked above. Use winrar or similar program to extract the contents of the RAR folder to your hard drive.
  • Copy the contents of the folder "Copy contents to root" to the root of your memory card.
  • Click "yes to all" when asked to overwrite files.
  • You now have all files needed to create the magic memory stick and jig kick battery, all files are in the correct place.
  • Go to the GAME Menu of your PSP, select the Memory Stick and press X, then select "Despertar del Cementerio v5" and press X. It will ask you to press the X button to begin the installation.
  • If you would like to free some space in the memory stick, you can safely delete the files 150.PBP and 340.PBP off the root of the memory stick as they will not be needed anymore, however make sure the file 390.PBP remains in there. Once finished, disable the USB Mode safely.
  • You have successfully created your Magic Memory Stick. Now you still need a jigkick battery in order to run it.
Creating the jigkick battery
  • Go to the GAME Menu of your PSP, select the Memory Stick and press X, then select "OS Pandora Battery Tool 0.XX" and press X. It will show a Warning message, press the X button to continue.
  • I suggest you select "Backup battery eeprom to ms0:/eeprom.bin" and prexx the X button. This way you will be able to to recover it at a later stage to its exact original condition, whenever you want to convert tha pandorised battery back to normal.
  • Then select "Convert to Service Mode (aka: Pandora's Battery)" and press X. Now your battery has been Pandorised. You can select "Quit now" and press X. Shut the PSP off. You can use your set now to unbrick any PSP and/or install the 3.90 M33-3 CFW.
You now have a Pandora Battery set consisting of the jigkick battery and the magic memory stick.

Using the set to unbrick/install custom firmware
  • Just grab any bricked or working PSP (Classic or Slim&Lite) running any firmware (Official or Custom).
  • Remove the regular battery and memory stick if applicable.
  • Insert the Magic Memory Stick into the PSP
  • Insert the JigKick Battery into the PSP.
  • The PSP will boot up automatically showing a Menu on screen.
  • Follow the on screen information and options:
    • X Button: To install 3.90 M33
    • O button: To install original 3.90
    • Square button: To dump the NAND to mso:/nand-dump.bin.
    • L+R+Start+Select to restore NAND with IDStorage Keys: Use this option ONLY if the nand-dump-bin file coms from your own PSP. Otherwise you will mess your IDStorage and the UMD Drive, Wifi, etc will stop working.
  • Presssing the X button to install 3.90 M33. The memory stick LED should begin flashing. Wait around 5-10 minutes, when the LED stops flashing the process is completed and you'll be asked to press X again to complete the installation - it's imperative that you do this.
  • Boot up the PSP with a regular non-Pandora battery. If you only have one battery and it's pandorised, then boot up without battery and connecting the charger to the mains with the power cord.
  • You may be presented with a BSOD, but just press X or O to restore settings.
  • Done. You're now running 3.90 M33-3.
Converting your battery and memory card back to its original state
  • Unpandorising the battery: To do that remove the battery, connect your PSP to the mains (A USB charging cable will NOT work), turn the PSP on, insert the magic memory stick, then insert the jigkick battery. Go to the GAME Menu of your PSP, select the Memory Stick and press X, then select "OS Pandora Battery Tool 0.XX" and press X. It will show a Warning message, press the X button to continue. Select "Flash only serial from ms0:/eeprom.bin" if you backed up the original eeprom or alternatively select "Convert to normal mode (0x12345678)" if you did not. Press X. Your battery is now a regular battery. You can now select "Quit now" and press X button to exit the application.
  • Unpandorising the memory stick: You can still use a magic memory stick it for regular purposes. It will not give you any problems. The Magic Memory Stick should still work in the same way for savegames, homebrew, MP3, Videos..., however if you want to convert it to a normal memory stick again you just have to format the Memory Stick from the Settings Menu of your PSP.
Pandora for those without a spare psp

For those who dont have access to another psp, dont worry, tergazzi has very kindly wrote a tutorial on manually creating a pandora battery.

Heres the link:
http://www.psp-forum.com/psp-homebre...html#post92197

Converting battery back to a standard battery

Once on 1.50 or Custom firmware you may want to revert your battery back to normal, heres how:
  1. Remove battery from psp
  2. Connect AC adapter to PSP
  3. Insert battery
  4. Run the Pandora's Battery Program from Game menu of the PSP.
  5. When the Program is loaded, hit the square button to turn it into a normal one.

3.52 M33-4

Requirements
  • PSP with 1.50 or custom firmware (OE-B etc) - Check Settings > System Settings > System Information
  • USB cable
  • Half a brain to follow instructions
Files neededCheck your battery
It is important that your battery has over a 75& charge and is plugged into the AC.
Begin the process
  1. If you are running a custom firmware eg. OE / SE skip this step and proceed to step 6.
  2. Connect your PSP to your computer.
  3. Open the STEP 1 folder and copy kxploitpatcher and kxploitpatcher% folders to ms0:/PSP/GAME/.
  4. Disconnect your PSP from your computer and then on the XMB go to GAME > Memory Stick > KXploit Permanent Patcher. Run it.
  5. Once done, delete the kxploitpatcher and kxploitpatcher% folder from your ms0:/PSP/GAME/ folder.
  6. Connect your PSP to your computer. Open STEP 2 folder then copy the M33CREATOR folder to your “ms0:/PSP/GAME” (for 1.50 Firmwares) or “ms0:/PSP/GAME150″ (for SE/OE Firmwares).
  7. Disconnect your PSP from your computer then on the XMB menu go to GAMES > Memory Stick and execute 3.52 M33 CREATOR. For noobs, the screen will normally go black so don’t panic.
  8. Once the process is finished it will automatically go back to the XMB.On your XMB, go again to GAMES > Memory Stick on your PSP, and execute 3.52 M33UPDATE.
  9. You’ll have to press X at your own risk to agree to the installation. Don’t you turn off your PSP until the process is complete or you’ll end up bricking it. When finished, you’ll have to press X again and reboot your PSP manually.
  10. Reboot by turning of your PSP and then turning it on again. You’ll then have a 3.52 M33 PSP.
  11. You can now delete the M33CREATOR folder form your “ms0:/PSP/GAME” folder on your PSP.
3.71 M33

  • 3.52 M33-4 installed on your PSP. If you don’t, look at the above post for upgrading to 3.52 M33-4.
  • Battery with 78% or more charge
  • AC adapter
  • USB cable
  • If you have the fat PSP, configure GAME folder to run on 3.52.
  • Shutdown your PSP
  • Then turn on your PSP again while holding your R button down. This will take you to the M33 recovery menu.
  • Go to Configuration > Game folder homebrew and check if 3.52 is enabled.
  • Press X or circle if not.
  • Exit the recovery menu.
Files needed

3.71 M33 installer

Now four easy steps to complete the upgrade:
  1. Download the above file and extract the contents anywhere on your PC.
  2. Connect your PSP to your computer via USB and copy the UPDATE folder to ms0:/PSP/GAME
  3. Go to your XMB menu and run the M33 update program. The screen will go black and this is normal. Follow the instructions. Be sure you have your PSP plugged-in to the AC adaptor. The screen will change to the Sony Update screen. Accept and update.
  4. This last instruction is VERY important. After the update is finished, the updater will ask you to reboot by pressing X or O. Do so, press X or O and the PSP will restart. Have fun on your new upgraded PSP!
3.80 M33

Requirements
PSP with firmware 3.52 M33-3 or higher. (look above for instructions to do accuire such firmware)

Files needed
Sony 3.80 eboot
3.80 M33 installer

Instructions

Before proceeding, make sure your psp has over 75% charge and is plugged into the AC charger.
  1. Download both sony 3.80 eboot and 3.80 M33 installer from the links above.
  2. Extract the contents using winrar or other suitable program.
  3. Connect your PSP to PC using a USB cable.
  4. Copy the UPDATE folder to PSP/GAME/
  5. Rename the 3.80 eboot from the above link (15413_EBOOT.PBP) to "380.PBP" , DONT INCLUDE THE "s.
  6. Copy 380.PBP to PSP/GAME/UPDATE/
  7. Exit usb mode and navigate to Game on the psp.
  8. Run the update and follow the instructions.
  9. When prompted to press X or O to restart, press X or O
  10. Thats all, you now have 3.80 M33
I would like to note that this tutorial has been made for free use by anyone who wants it. This tutorial was also made with no intention of making a profit from team M33's work.

Anyone who wants to use this tutorial or M33's firmware to make a profit clearly has no morals and i wish the worst on them.

I would also like the thank team M33 for all the work they do for us and hope they will remain in the psp community for years to come.

3.90 M33 +

With the release of 3.80 M33 it is now possible to update to the latest M33 firmware using the Network update found in SETTINGS of the PSP.

Regularly check the network update. If you do not have a wireless internet connection needed for network update then the PSP can still be upgraded by downloading from the PC and copying to the PSP.

From now on, unless any major changes occur in the update process, i will provide the links for new firmware versions.

To update simply follow the same instructions as 3.80 M33 above, except using the latest firmware.

I think you should just ammend this one. Make an index at the beginning (i.e. 2.71 TA-082 look at number #7) and go from there.
