Default Potential PSP buyer... help!

Yo,

I'm looking to buy a used PSP and I was wondering if you guys could answer a couple questions. First of all, I want to be able to hack the PSP and put the homebrew stuff on it so I assume I would have to get a PSP v2.71, correct? And how would I go about verifying that the PSP that I am going to buy is in fact this version. Any other pointers in buying a used PSP or things that I should look for before buying it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

ask the buyer. If they "don't know" don't buy it. Its pobably a 3.0X

Also check that the PCB is TA-079 not TA-082 or TA-086

How do I find out what kind of motherboard the PSP has? Since the new thing that Dark_Alex came out with can only work with TA-079 mobo's or older... right?

It would be helpful if someone told me exactly what I needed on a PSP to be able to use Dark_Alex's program thing. Also how to find out on the PSP!

Ok, the guy that I might buy the PSP from has a 2.0 version PSP that was purchased in 05. Would that work?

Yes, I'm like 99% sure that that'd be perfect. Just open the UMD Door, and if it has letters on the side next to the battery door, it will work.
