Default MP3 to Atrac3plus conversion Software

Guys I was looking for a while to find this and felt real dumb when I did. Maybe you already know. I found the Sony Connect program called SoundStage on there website. It lets you convert your mp3's to the atrac3plus format. That means it sounds just as good if not better and take almost half the space on your memory stick. Here is the Url:

Default maybe it doesn't work

I was just reading that the psp does not support the type of atrac3 files that sound stage produces. But the program has been updated to atrac3plus file conversion also. will someone tell me if it works or not

you should simply use MP3

i have a PSP and mini disc

the atrac3 is a good format

the software is a real bugger though

constant crashing

bad conversions

missing data

i would much rather use a MP3 encoder to make the file smaller!

Default I don't know about that

Maybe it acts that way on your gear, but the progam has been updated, It works great now. It can take a mp3 that is about 5-6 mb file and convert it to a atrac3plus that sounds just as good and the file is only 1-2 mb. Plus no skipping, no crashing, just pure golden sound

There is no codec out at the moment that can take an MP3 file and reduce it to a third of the size without a loss in quality. You might not notice it unless you listen through a good set of earphones but that quality loss will be there.

I have, I took the song Vindicated by dashboard confesional and first lstend to it on my Sony MDR-7505 head phones. The cost me 50 bucks and sound damn good. I then I riped it and converted it to Atrac3plus. I then listened to it 3 times in a row and noticed no difference in quaility.

We will have to agree to differ on this.
