You cannot change .mp3 format songs to Windows Media Player because WMP supports only .wma formats songs. I suggest you use itunes because it supports more range of media formats and most of the mp3 players or iPods only use mp3 formats.

 Sorry to say, but you're waaaay off. WMP does support mp3 (and many other formats), this is the program I use and all my songs are mp3s, hell there's even an option in WMP to rip your cds as mp3s. Also, lots of mp3 players support a variety of formats, the iPod supports AACs along with others (I think).

Also, don't forget that iTunes is also a bit naughty with what it installs. I've never nor will I ever buy an Ipod, so why, even if I buy songs on iTunes would I want an iPod helper service taking up memory and CPU!

as 5u6k0n1t says use download.com or tucows to find a good converter. Also, check the software that came with your soundcard (or motherboard if your using on board sound), you can find some find some forgotten gems!

Also, don't forget that if you can connect your PSP to the internet (even temporarily) you can enable WMA playback. So you can rip with WMP into WMA or MP3 and play it back on the PSP

...it takes up less than 1/4 of a megabyte. What do you have, 16mb ram?

No 2gb. but when your a PC gamer and every little byte of memory and every cpu cycle counts....

What I'm saying is that you don't get a choice when it installs or runs. Even setting the service to disabled doesn't work as it automatically enables itself again.
I'll never need the service, so why should I have it running! Just on the off chance some burgler breaks in and wants to update his iPod with my 2 Unlimited CD.....

If I don't need it I should be able to swtich it off!
