Unless your in Japan, I think it might pose a problem. It's probably only compatible with Jap PSPs or only overs GPS service in Japan...I don't know, I'm just letting you know some possibilities.

The actual GPS will work anywhere in the world... it's the problem of finding the software/maps for your area... until of course it is released in your area. I am not doubting a nice hack/release of some Euro and US maps so we can import the actual GPS unit then just DL the maps and software from the net.

I'm getting it when it comes out here, my folks are getting tired of me asking where we are when I'm forced to leave town...

I think the GPS will be the biggest release for the PSP. Loads of people are going to get it, especially with its $50 price tag. I mean that is definitely better even if you include the PSP price, since most GPS devices cost over $300.

I am new here, I was looking for info on the GPS for my PSP, I emailed the company that makes the Japaneese version and this is what they said:

"Thank you very much for coming into contact with us.

We're afraid that we've got no plan to apply on maps abroad for the moment.
However, we'll refer it for developments of a product to release in the near future.

Please keep your favours toward our products from now on.
