I don't think it means 2.80 PSP's in regards to their firmware, more that they are more than likely going to have the new motherboard in so this method could be used to overcome that one hurdle. The hurdle of finding an exploit for the extra security in 2.70, 2.71 and 2.80 is still going to be there.

It might happen but I would personally not expect it any time soon.
