Default iR Shell 1.6 released. Amazing.

Ahman has just updated his amazing PSP V1.5 iR shell to 1.6. This is one of the most amazing pieces of 1.5 homebrew on the PSP and I have been using the last version for some time. However, this new version actually allows you to use a 'virtual memorystick' via wi-fi or usb cable. In other words, providing you are in wi-fi range or your USB cable is long enough, your memorystick size for homebrew, music and movies is now only restricted by the size of the hard disk in your computer.

Check out the list of features:-

- You can now browse your PC harddisk, DVDROM or any other PC storage devices from your PSP via infrastructure WiFi or USB connection and stream files to your homebrew applications. You can even install PSP homebrews on your PC harddisk and launch them on your PSP, just like a huge virtual Memory Stick. 200GB memory stick is now a reality!
- You can open files directly with a single click via iR Shell file browser, such as PMP movies, PMF movies, Atrac3s, mp3s, photos, text files, PDF files, ZIPs, RARs, etc. These files can reside on your Memory Stick or even on your PC storage device.
- Launching XMB within iR Shell which allows you to use all features of XMB, plus taking snapshot of it or UMD Video.
- Alarm clock to remind you important appointments.
- Low battery voice warning to remind you to recharge your battery before it drys up.

That is just a small rundown of it's features. If you own a 1.5 PSP download it and try it out.

Everytime I hear about new stuff for v1.5 users, I regret upgrading more and more. Sounds cool. A lot of cool features.

Being able to stream from a PC is so money, thats why I got/modded my Xbox (and why I to this day love it to death).

Well, it is amazing if you consider all it can do and that it is free homebrew. Streaming is just one aspect.

Uh...are you talking about how to extract a zip file?

www.winzip.com

www.rarsoft.com

Either will do it.
