Hi all,
I've read over at IGN that there's a whole bunch of new hardward coming out in 2006. One that I'd read about previously is the GPS peripheral. While it's obvious this will have the ability to act as a typcial Sat Nav system, Sony claim it will be used for gaming as well. How the hell would that be used for gaming? They even go as far to say the name of the game it will be first implemented in!! Any ideas? Oh and it looks like the next firmware update is imminent "a spring Network update". *EDIT* Made a clickable link (EXASPIDEY) |

Available from autumn, the new PSP-300 camera and PSP-290 GPS receiver will bolster the handheld console’s already impressive multimedia CV, and open up possibilities for less conventional games.
Using its new extras, the PSP will add Eyetoy-like motion tracking and a video chat function to its titles, and also act as a standalone portable sat-nav system. Incredibly, this was just the start of Sony’s revelations. It’s also promised a new download service offering ‘selected popular Playstation titles from the past’, which is no doubt the start of a full-blown online games superstore. Source: Stuff Magazine. Good times ahead for the psp! |

All that stuff sounds great. The question is, is it true? This could all go down the hole and never happen. It would be great if it did. ![]() |
