Many airlines ban the use of any WiFi device on flight. You can only turn it on if WiFi is disabled. So you can't really play multiplayers even with Ad-Hoc on the flight.

They can solve that one easily. surround the ****pit with that mesh that dont let in no radio waves. and the satelite outside of that for signals to control tower on a different frequency to PSP's

...they'd allow you to use the ad-hoc gaming mode. Would that not have a chance of interfeiring with communication systems if 20 people on the plane were using them?

I know United Airline won't let you use any WiFi in flight unless the WiFi can be disabled. I am not sure if it is a FAA rule or just choice by the airline.
