one pixel is a big deal on the DS, i own a DS and a PSP, and i dont understand how you guys keep getting scratches on your DS / PSP. i'm a careful person, i take care of my stuff, but the PSP has a carrying case and the DS closes, how can you get scratches on them?!
idk i had my gba for 3 years and i sweare i kept so good care of it i have no scratches at all. but the psp 2 days after i bought it there was like 50 scratches! though there not visible when playing, you can see them at a certain angle. idk the psp lcd screen is made of cheap stuff..

I wouldn't say its made of cheap stuff as HDTV's of the LCD and DLP kind are almost as sensative. I have a JP PSP for maybe a month or so now and I don't have a single scratch on my screen or anywhere. Except my screen protector is F'ed up lol.

I plan to play mostly at home. Can I plug the PSP in to a wall outlet and play that way without the battery in the unit?

Yes you can.
but, if you keep charging it all the die, it wil kill your battery. therefore shortening the actual battery duration.

I honestly don't know how most of you can have scratchs on your psp's, obviously your not taking proper precautions.

1. Don't put it in you pocket if you have anything else in there, espectially hard metal objects

2. don't wipe your screen with any abrasive materials, such as paper towels. Use the cloth thats included, or a soft (damp) washcloth

3. do NOT use any chemical cleaning agents (windex, etc.) to wash your screens, it specifies that in the manual.

4. do not rest anything on your psps lcd

5. if you are not using it should be put in its case

in other words, rtfm and use your common sense.

these kind of batteries need to be run all the was to like atleast 10% and then you can start chargin them, because what i have noticed with rechargeable batteries is that the machine actualy gets tricked into thinking it doesnt have enough energy because you turn it off and put it on the charger when it reaches like 50% i know it sounds stratnge but i have alot of experience with these batteries.

so the best thing to do is not charge your psp until you have it to about 10%, the lower the better. you have to exercise the cells so they stay fresh.

I've been busy playing PSP so I've been away. My PSP is perfect. Zero dead pixels and no problems. I've been buying a lot of games. I even sold my xbox to fully support PSP. My games are listed in my sig. PSP is amazing.
