Hints about Firmware 4.00 - PSP-Forum.com

Hey everyone, just to let you know that there have been a lot of rumors that firmware 4.00 is to be released very soon, possibly even released with Go!Messenger which is due for release this month. However, the good news, as well as the definite Skype feature (only on PSP-2000 models), is that it's rumored that the new version will come with either Adobe Flash Player 9 or Adobe Flash Lite 3 which will enable users to go onto sites like YouTube and finally watch their videos. The rumour about it having Flash Lite 3 is from the fact that Sony just recently released the new model of the Sony Mylo which supports YouTube videos, also using an Opera browser similar to the PSP's. Anyways, these are just rumors, but this new model of the Sony Mylo suggests that Sony have now no reason to say that they can't update the PSP's firmware to support YouTube videos.

but I wonder if the Youtube related update will be less useful to those of us with the older PSP with less RAM?

PSPtube runs fine on the phats so i cant imagine this firmware being a problem.

I am predicting that sony are going to start releasing seperate firmwares.

For example, when the firmware with skype on it comes out, the phats are not going to have that so im presuming sony will have another firmware with the same updates except for skype.
