Thread: Emulators on 3.80 M33-5?

    Emulators on 3.80 M33-5?

Have tried looking around for this and apols if posted somewhere else but can anyone help with this...

Have got a PSP with 3.80 M33-5. Really only want to run emulators on it. Have downloaded MAME4ALL and the SNES Emualtor and followed the instructions but no joy. Game cannot be started or something similar keeps coming up.

Within the PSP folder I have GAME, GAME150 and GAME371 folders. Have tried putting stuff into each of them but nothing seems to work. Do I need to make a GAME380 folder?

Any advice or being pointed in the right direction, gratefully received.

    Cheers,

First of all what are you running? A Slim or a Fat?

Chances are you have tried to load emulators that are designed to work with the 1.50 Kernel when you possibly have the 3.xx Kernel.

Have you tried altering the Kernel setting in the recovery console?

I think it is a slim. I am not 100% sure but i think that the slims format the card slightly different so there is not a GAME380 folder.

Turn the PSP off. Turn it back on, but hold down R. Then go to Configuration. In there, make sure Game Folder Kernel is set to 3.80. Then exit. Go to USB mode and drag the two folders (something like snes and snes%) to GAME150. Then try.

Thanks Constantine, tried what you said but no joy. I dont think its the advice thats the problem, its me.
Was set to 3.80 kernel. Dragged the folders into GAME150. MAME4ALL just said corrupted data, SNES9x just hung on the PSP screen for a bit, then it switched the PSP off.

Thanks for taking the time out to suggest this though. I am clearly not destined to play homebrew and emus on this thing.

    Cheers

the emulators stated are 1.50 kernel versions. now im just guessing here, but i reckon that the 1.50 addon is not installed.

    File Details-CFW-3.80-1.50-kernel-add-on-PSP -

and this file renamed to 150.pbp

    File Details-PSP-Firmware-1.50-File-(EBOOT)-North-America-PSP -

I hope this helps, you were doing everything else right. If its already installed you have nothing to lose. If it isnt, you'll be playing snes games in 20 mins

    Peace
