Aswell as 451. Many schools have you read both.

I personally have never read either of them, I don't think. I heard of To Kill a Mocking Bird though...

Reading seems to be something that the younger generation does not do too much... shame that....

Audio books are great but so much depends on the readers voice... if he reads it bad then the book is ruined.

Go buy the book and read it.

"back in the good ol' days......"

I can't see why schools dont let kids read anything they want instead of ol shakespeare, Ok so it may be interesting old english to some people but for most teenagers - boring cr*p, why not let them read a comic book for english lessons or a videogame magazine? They're still reading words aren't they? I was always told I was good at reading because of all the arcade & nintendo magazines I read.

That's why, people like Kev. Seriously though, I would enjoy school reading soooo much more if we could choose our own books. Stephen King and Dean Koontz FTW. Forget Shakespear and his starcrossed lovers.

Do they still teach Shakespear at schools????

Classic books were always in my English courses and some were great and others not so great... I think the point is that reading is one skill but actually understanding what you are reading and how the writer weaves his story to suck you in and to guide you through the experiences he wants you to experience rather that it just being a written story.... the classics have been so well written about themselves that the teachers have a wealth of information at hand to help you understand the reading experience and, to an extent, the writting experience too.
