You cheeky wipper snapper you....
Actually I was working in a store selling computers when the BBC MIcro was first released... in actual fact I was at the industrial launch dinner in Cambridge. The BBc Micro was just an updated Acorn Atom anyway. The Atom came in two styles... a ready built unit and as a kit... I had the kit... put it together and did all of the soldiering and... it didn't work  hahahahahahaha I also used to repair the IBM's Computer clubs Apple II. Other machines i used to use and sell were.... Dragon 32 (Uk rip of Tandy 32 colour). Oric Obviously Zx80/81/speccy Sharpe MZ80A (think there was a K too) Pet (Commodore) Vic 20 (Commodore) ..... bugger this is making me feel old..... The list goes on. Just to show how old I really am.... I used to use a pc at work that had 8" floppy disks and Winchester drives :? now that is old. Des  |

I remember playing with one of those Commodores when I was young. I can't remember the exact model because I was only like 7 or so but I definetly looked similar to that one Ashley posted. I remember the big F buttons on the right and that it took 5 1/4 floppy disks

hey fella's just ease up on the giggle factor ok  .... in about twenty years time some nippers will take the **** out of you lot for playing with PSP and 360 and computers that you think are cutting edge NOW
The Vic 20 was the first decent 'games' computer. I can remember that it took cartridges like the old Atari 800... Great piccies Ashley... I think there was a Sharp Mz80B or K too... this one never had a cassette player... not sure if it had a floppy instead... think it had buggar all really. The Dragon 32 was a rip off of a Tandy Colour... no pictures of an Oric then???? Des  |
