I thought i would post this in here as i think it fits in with the whole random aspect so here goes...
Whilst running a few days ago i was thinking about snipers, then i thought about playing Tiger Woods PGA 2008 when i got home. This lead me to think, "Could a sharpshooter/marksman/sniper shoot a ball out of the sky that has been hit at full power by tiger woods or a similar skilled golfer. I spoke to pspwad on msn about it, what do you guys think. All i know is i would shake the hand of the shooter who pulled it off. Kev ![]() |

It depends on the marksman, but even if someone fired a swarm of golf balls I think it would be difficult as hell to hit just one of them. I think it would be nearly impossible to hit a golf ball when only one is fired. I have two airsoft guns, a UTG MK96 sniper rifle and a beretta. I can't even hit a moving squirrel from just fifty yards away.

I also think you would have to be extrememly lucky. I'm a hunter as most of you know, so I do a lot of shooting with a high powered rifle. I consider myself an above average shooter, and I've been able to shoot a hole in a quarter at 200 yards away. Even with the kind of shooting skills it takes to do that, I know there is no way I'd ever be able to shoot a golf ball out of the air like you described without a lot of luck.
My main reasoning is that you have to take your time when you aim at something that small and you have to control your breathing, so by the time you tried to do that and get off an accurate enough shot the golf ball would fall to the ground. Who knows though, there may be some superhuman shooter out there in the world that could pull it off on a consistent basis...I know I'd pay to see it. |

Yeah, i think your all right, if it was done it would probably be luck, hell it would even be luck if you hit it with ak AK-47 or similar auto riffle.
I would love to be able to shoot like that. BTW does anyone know any good sniper games on the xbox or 360, that are mostly dedicated to snipering, like using suites made of leafs and spending 30 mins trying to crawl to the best vantage point? Kev ![]() |
