lol that Chris guy's video comes to mind "LEAVE THE RABBITS ALONE!! THEY'RE GOING THROUGH A HARD TIME IN THEIR LIFE!!"
No offense, just saying that it reminded me of that... Also, I wasn't saying all rabbits should die, I was just pointing out that my mom had like 4 rabbits, and one time that the dog got one... |

well rabbits are pests, they eat vegetable crops, that's why they are hunted.
foxes are pests, they kill sheep and chickens etc. Pheasants are breeded for hunting, they serve no other purpose at all. It's a big money making enterprise. I've never been hunting live animals myself, I'd prefer just to shoot at clays, shout pull and there one is, instead of walking about in the cold at night, trying to find your prey where you may be lucky and find dozens to shoot at, or be lucky enough just to find one.

I disagree in what you consider a pest, because you put it like that then thats like saying the terrorists in afghanistan are attacking us because we take all their oil. So if you agree with that then you agree with terrorism on the powerfull countries for being pests to the poorer countries.
I must point out, im no follower of terrorism for the same reason i disagree with killing rabbits. Bit of an odd view, and i cant really describe it better, but for those that kinda see what im on about then i dont think i need explain more. Disagree with me if you wish, its part of life, everyone is different, but just remember that if you go to the extreme of your opinions then you may be suprised in what sort of thing you agree with in similar circumstances. If you look at my profile, you'll notice under hobbies I have fishing and hunting, so I wanted to give my point of view on the topic.
The reason I hunt, and the only reason, is for food. It can get really expensive to have to buy meat all year round, and my family and I rely on the meat we get from elk and deer hunting throughout the winter. I agree with you Kev when you say that hunting for sport is stupid. I know a lot of people that hunt just for sport or for trophies (antlers and hides), and it kind of ticks me off because they usually let the meat go to waste. I feel this is really disrespectful. I'm part Native American, and my ancestors passed this tradition on to me so in my opinion it's alright to kill animals if you respect them and the role they play in the food chain, and you don't let them go to waste. Killing just to kill is just pointless IMO however. Sorry for the long post but I just wanted to share a little perspective from a hunter. ![]() |

A valid point. But I dont see the connection with hunting and terrorism.
I suppose end of the day it's down to your background, I live in the countryside so I'm surrounded by farms and people that hunt, my grandad took me hunting rabbits when I was 5 or so. Again, pheasants are breeded to be hunted, people will pay for the pleasure of shooting them in drives, then take them home for eating.

Ok, we consider a pest to be something that takes your things from your space.
Well oil in afghanistan belongs to afghanistan, yet we take it with some lame excuses of "paying off debt" and playing poverty in our favour. So you think you have the right to shoot a rabbit because it is invading your space, eating your vegies or whatever. So you think it is ok for a terrorist to shoot english workers in the oil pumping stations because they are doing the same as the rabbits in your house. Like i said, its an extreme view, and kinda wrong in some ways, but if you look at it in an extremity you may be able to understand. Vamp, hunting for food, i dont disagree with, its nature, i would be a complete fool if i disagreed as im a meat eater aswell, i simply have too much heart(and im a sissy) to kill animals (with the exception of bugs). Od, about the pheasants, so its more ok to shoot a breeded pheasant than it is a wild one? No, i cant see how killing a pheasent for fun and saying its ok because thats what it was breeded for. As i said breeding for killing and eating i am fine with, but just to go out and have a "hoot" is simply pointless and i think rather disturbed, i mean, killing for fun, do you not think that seems a bit too weird. We will just have to agree to disagree, it is a sport that a lot of people around here do for fun, it's not that there's bugger all else to do around here. Plus don't you enjoy running around FPS games shooting things? same principle, just real life.

Comparing a game to real life is simply stupid. No offence od, but i enjoy running around chainsawing human size bugs watching the blood splatter over my eyes, but to say because i like doing it it a game dosent mean i have the right nor the erge to chainsaw the cashier as im buying my lunch.
Thats a different topic, i dont believe that games influence people, i think if you want to slit your brothers neck then you have something very wrong with you to even think of that, it dosent take a game to come up with that thought, there is much more behind it. Just because lots of people like killing for fun dosent make it more normal or less "f*cked up in the head". Killing is something that should stay on anyones consience, i feel bad for killing spiders, but unfortunatly for the spider i would feel worse if it stayed on the wall next to me. Even the thought of watching a rabbits head being blown to bits for "fun" sickens me, and to be completly honest i wouldnt care at all if, say a bear hunter got killed by the thing it was hunting, he deserves to be dead, if your going to kill as a "game" then give the oposition a fair chance. Even if someone i knew went on a hunt for fox's and the fax gave them rabies, i would say tough sh*t, its your fault isnt it. Its nice to know you agree with me Cabe, thats one less person i think needs to go over their morals. Kev ![]() |
