Be careful if you join the Armed Forces, I have a lot of friends that were enlisted that ended up regretting it. My advice would be to join only if you plan on making a career out of it. Many of my friends joined because they wanted to go to college after they got out for free, but if that's your motivation there are other options you might want to consider.

Did someone say Body Armour????

You know what young fella.... deciding on what you would want to spend the rest of your life doing is a REALLY hard question and one that not many people can truthfully answer at your age,,, or come to think of it at any age.
Some fool themselves by saything that they LOVE their job and all is bliss.... most of this is just that people like to have the comfort and reassurance of doing what they know and so end up staying in the same job for years and tears (no typo).

You must sit down and work out what qualifications you need to give you the best options for getting a good cross sections of jobs.
Specialising in a career education at the begining is great if you are SURE that's what you want.... vetinarian school for instance.... hell you might get an allergy to cats  ... but by then you are committed. I hope that makes sense to you guys... hell it's way too early here.

Anyway... don't think you have to decide NOW what you will be doing for the next forty years.... no one knows whats round the corner and what oppertunities come along... but education is the most important key in finding the correct job.... but even if you do not have the college know how if you keep your head up and push yourself you may end up being what ever you want.

I have done many things but have always had a chosen career that I could fall back on if need be.
Remember money is not the only driving force behind a job/career. You will be spending eight plus hours a day at your place of work so you had better make sure that you like it mentally, physically and that your conscience can live with it.
Conscience because your job may envolve a slaughter house or something which others might find distastful.... trust me on this one.... being able to live with your work is important as it effects what loved ones think of you.... getting deep here.... My girlfriend has been in law enforcement for some 26 years and she has the problems associated with long term law enforcemnet officers... they are never off duty and are always looking for the bad guys to pounce. She can have a VERY stressful job and has seen her fair share of dead people and truely nasty stories of just how evil people can be.
And I see her bullet proof vest and know that it is a pointless piece of body armour as I know what is available on the streets from the Russian and Chinese market place. Rounds that are so cheap but can pass through the standard issue armour so easily....

.....anyway what I am saying is as life goes on you are given options and directions you want your life to go.... equipe yourself with as much knowledge as possible and the directions become clearer and more frequent... enjoy your life and do with it as much as possible and don't try and nail it down now with a career plan aright from the off.

Lol even as contructive as that was, I think I might have to disagree. I'm a sophomore in highschool with a quarter left. That means that I have to start thinking about majors, minors, professions, and colleges because I apply to them next year.

That's not a problem... just pick wisely as the broader your educational base the better equiped you are to 'choose' what you want todo at a later date.

This is my last year in high school and I am so happy that its almost over, time to party lol jk Its cool because the colleges around here look at the classes you took in 10th and 11th grade and how good you did in those classes, lucky for me I got straight A's as a sophmore and A's and B's in 11th grade. I am hoping to become a dentist its a good job that I would believe would be one of these so called "Best jobs in the world" I like to help people, this job would also help my social skills with people around And it pays very well too

Brutal!! I didn't do well this year. Looks like I really have to haul ass when I'm a junior.

My current plan is once im out of high school and in college(hopefully) ill just play at marraiges and such. It can add up quick if you get the right jobs and nice tips.

Plus I sound like an angel. Most of the time :P
