My laptop harddrive is recently having an insane amount of problems and I need to know how to fix it.
Symptoms: Randomly occuring black screen on boot (screen shuts off entirely) It happens at random points, meaning sometimes I get the BIOS screen, sometimes I don't, sometimes I get the Windows loading screen, ect. If I leave it alone for a long time it seems to have positive effects. I tried to restore my harddrive to factory conditions with the restore disc, but the computer got the 'Black screen of death' in the middle of it. Any ideas? Constantine

I removed the harddrive to see if I could boot from a CD, but I still got the black screen. This points to me to the motherboard as the source of the problem. I'm going to take it to GeekSquad and have them run tests as soon as I can - I can't even get the damn thing open.

When I start it up the fan starts as usual, the harddrive light lights up, ect, but the harddrive doesn't spin up for some reason.
As for the dual booting question, I quit dual booting a while ago because of the chip inside my wireless card. Unfortunatly, it wasn't compatible with Mac OS X. As of now I do believe it is my mother board, which is really gonna suck cause I'm pretty sure it's integrated. Constantine
