I was sitting here for a long time thinking about what I could do, I figured out that if I get a part time job now, and save up till Summer, I can get the PSP, PS3, XBox 360, Wii, some games, a pretty nice HD TV and still have about $350 left(I was thinking about getting a surround sound system with this), or something like that, I thought of it a while ago, than watched 1/2 a movie, so I don't really remember everything. The only catch is, my dad's making me get AT LEAST a C in all of my classes before I can get a job, right now these are my grades:
English - F Comp Apps - C German - F(My dad doesn't care about this one) History - F Math - B Science - F So I'd have to work my A** off to get get all of them up to at least a C, than keep them there for the rest of the year, if I can keep them up, than he'll let me get a part time job, than I plan on quitting at Summer so I can have the Summer all to me and my sexy gaming systems! lol What would you guys do? I think I'm going to stay up pretty late tonight catching up on everything I can think of, and than I'm going to turn them in, ask the teachers I still have a F in what I can do for them, than get their grades up to at least a D, so I'm passing all my classes. Get a application sometime soon for a job in Winter Break full time, and than when I have to go back to school, than go to part time and work hard to keep my grades up, sure it'll kill me for a while, but I think it'll be worth it in the Summer... |

yeah go for it, but don't think that you can afford a psp, ps3, 360 wii, HDTV etc. too soon, saving is hard to do, (well its hard for me).
I've been thinking too if I quit smoking now, I may be able to afford a bike for the summer, if I sell my ps2 and stuff (never play the ps2). D was my lowest grade, suprisingly in welsh! Work hard and I reckon you can do it.

Being a parent and having many teachers at all grade levels as friends, this just stuns me ...
Oh my goodness ... at this rate I suggest you get something like a skill. And wasting money and spending time addicted to video games is *not* a skill. As of your grades, anything but uneducated labor is out for you if this is representative of what you produce. Your parents have every right to pull *everything* from you until you get your sh!t together - they are being irresponsible by letting you have games and internet access while you are failing across the boards and seem unphased with it except for how it impacts your gaming time. Teachers don't want to fail students - they will almost all work with you if you work with them. Many also try to engage the parents if a student is having issues - and certainly administrators will try if a student is failing across the board. You really need to ask yourself - what the heck do I want to do with my life? Your goal - get good enough grades to get a job to buy a few toys and then return to this sorry state of affairs ... is just pathetic and sad. |

Well, yeah, I guess so, but I don't know, we've got like 8 days left in this quarter, so I'm going to try to pull up all my grades by than, but it'll be hard, than I'm going to get the job starting right after Christmas and stick all my money in the bank(that's the only place I can stick it that I'll actually not spend it because my step-mom won't let me touch it unless there's like her and my dad and my mom there to make sure I'm not fu**ing up, she doesn't trust me AT ALL.) But like I said, I'm buying a PSP, than sticking it all in the bank and than I'm not touching any of it until Summer, than once Summer hits, I'm getting all that I can with the $ I have saved up, I figured that I'll have about $3400 to spend if I don't spend any of it(If I work all my hours, which I probably will since I'd still get the weekends off), it comes out to about $3000 if I get all the stuff that I want that's out now, so I'll have enough to get some stuff that's not out yet, but will be when I'm buying(like Halo 3.) So that's my new and improved plan. That way, I can not be distracted by my games(the only one I'll really have is the PSP) and than I can still get it all, besides, if I went to school all day, than went to work for 4 hours, I'd get out a 7 PM, that leaves me a few hours to do homework, than get on the internet.

 Hey, at least you're not Asian :P
If it's not an A+, it's an F. On the upside, this makes college pass/fail classes a breeze. My goal is much farther than that. I want to get so much money that the hottest chick in the world will have to get with me. And then I'll spend it all on gaming systems and return to this sorry state of affairs. ![]() By the way, an E is an F for kids who have self-esteem problems. ![]()

Hmm...I've never done the best in school either. I can see where you're coming from.
First, find out what it is that makes your grades so low. Is it that you don't do homework, or do bad on tests. My problem is that I don't do my homework. So what I started to do was, writing all my assignments down in my agenda book, and just taking 30 minutes to a half hour, and doing them all. It was a pain at first because I'd forget to write them down, but I got used to it for a while. I was actually on the honor roll the next marking period! And about work...I actually looked forward to going to work after school for some reason...still not sure why, but I liked it. Probably because I could tell my Mom that I've been up since 6am doing nothing but work, and she would usually ease up on me...
