I've had mine for over a year and it gets used on a daily basis. Its in my pocket every day at school and its never had any kind of breakage problem.
I actually think its well built rather than fragile

The PSP screen is easily scratched and as a result one can buy these flimsys to stick to the screen... been told that they work great... never been able to put one on without air bubbles all over the place myself.
But if you want to see scratching check out ipods screens.... All in all I think the PSP is a sturdy piece of kit... it's not designed to be dropped but what is nowadays that is full of electronics. Has anyone tried to polish the scratches out of the screen with any success? Des  |

I always get dust under 'em when I try to apply them. Royal pain imo. That's why I use the hard clip-on ones. Thinking about getting the flimsy ones, though, since it would make my PSP look a little better.

I HATE how easily it breaks, my 3rd one this year just recently broke, more Radio shack than Sony's fault. Just a word of advice, DO NOT buy stuff made by Radio Shack, if it's make by someone else, but in Radio Shack it MIGHT be okay, but I've never had a good experience with them. Also, today, I put a big a** scratch in the screen, well I guess it's only about 1 cm long, but it's visible as hell, I'm going to see if this stuff called PlastX or something like that will take it out or make it less visible, if it does, I'll tell you, it normally works well, but I haven't used it on a PSP yet.
EDIT: Well, the scratch is still in there, but it doesn't smudge ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() hopefully it'll continue to not smudge, if it doesn't smudge in a few hours or so, I'll tell you, I'll tell you even if it doesn't, I'll still tell you. |

well im on my 3rd PSP now, the 1st got replaced the day after I got it that was a factory defect or whatever, the 2nd time I got it replaced after 10 months when the WLAN switch stopped working.
I think I've dropped all PSP's....about twice, this one I have now has no scuff or scratch on it and I intend to keep it that way.

My little brother once got a hold of my PSP and threw it off of my bed. It dropped about 3-4 feet. Somehow it didn't break or anything. I'd say everything but the screen is quite durable.
