Well, I said in the other thread that I'd make a differant thread, so I wouldn't hi-jack that one, so here it is.
My Problem: I went in to Radio Shack to get a converter so I could use my big headphones with my PSP, but than one day it decided to fall apart, while in the process crippling my PSP.   So now, all because I wanted to use my big headphones, I have NO external sound and crippled headphone usage on my PSP, meaning that I can only use one headphone or have it out a little bit and have semi-poor quality, but using both headphones... Soultions I've computer up with: 1. Update to 2.71, than send it into Sony, I said update to 2.71 because if they just fix it, than send it back, I can still downgrade. But the flaw with this plan is if they just replace it, I'll be stuck witha TA-082 (or TA-086 if it's not a rumor) and 2.82. 2. Go back to Tech For Less(Refurb Store), buy a PSP, swap them, than take it back and ask for my money back, saying that it had no sound when I bought it. (I'm probobly not going to do this, but it crossed my mind....) What I think I'm going to do: I think I'm just going to wait untill Christmas, than buy a downgradable PSP from Tech For Less, than send this PSP that I currently have into Sony, than I'd have one that's updated and one that's on 1.5, I can't really see any flaws this way exept for the fact that I won't really be able to get anything else for Christmas.... But I guess Christmas isn't really supposed to be about the presents. Any better suggestions are open... |

Nah, it wouldn't...
1. It thinks there's headphones in there 24/7 2. If you move the headphone port slightly over it comes back on, but when you quit pushing it, it quits. 3. I've got the downgrader already, I suppose I could try it, what harm could it do? I know it could brick it, but I've used it before, so I doubt it. Thanks for the suggestion though, man I'll love you(in a non-gay way) FOREVER if this works, I'm gunna like freak out and make everyone else in the house wonder what I'm doing in here if this works, lol. |

Da**...
, it didn't work, I'm going to update to 2.71, if it works, I'm going to stay there, if it doesn't... I'll probobly just stay seeing how SE-B has more to offer, plays all my UMD games I have so far, online Socom 2, all the advantages of 1.5, but I have the downgrader just incase I don't want to for some strange reason.EDIT: DANG, that didn't work either... Oh well... SE-B, here I come... |

Man, I'm trying to just get back down to 1.5 ATM, this thing is a pain to install, I can't figure it out, it goes through the gameboot, but than it freezes, and restarts, anyone who has installed SE-B, can you help me?
EDIT: Okay, nevermind, I've got it all figured out, and I'm installing it as I'm typing, it's done now, if this works I'll give you the link Ryder, you need to be on v1.5 to install it. EDIT 2: Okay, it worked, so I'm going to post it in the homebrew section, I'll post a link on here once I'm done. EDIT 3: Okay, I'm all done with my walkthrough, so here's the link. http://psp-forum.com/viewtopic.php?p=69589#69589 |

when I got a replacement PSP off Sony it was a refurbished one they sent me instead of repairing mine (it's quicker). The refurb'd one had firmware 2.6 on it, i'm assuming from this that once they fix a PSP, they don't bother upgrading it. you could be lucky if you send for a replacement.

Why don't you tell the people at Radio Shack what happened and get really ****ed off and see if they can do anything about it. It was their faulty product that broke your PSP, raise some hell.
