Default Help installing windows

I recently bought a wireless keyboard and mouse for my old pc but needed windows 2000 or higher. So i bought a copy of windows 2000 professional but am having problems installing it.

When it starts to install and reboots the computer i get a message saying 'Trend ChipAway Virus has detected a virus on your hard drive, press enter to find out more(recommended) OR press (c) to continue the boot up'

If i press (c) it boots up and says 'please insert the windows 2000 professional cd rom into drive A and press enter' But I dont understand what to do because drive A is the floppy drive and i have windows 2000 on a cd. When i press enter nothing happens. I then have to press f3 to quit the install.

Does anyone know what to do?

Well you an start by formatting your HDD to remove that virus. Now try installing Windows 2000. Just a quick question, Why didnt you go for XP?

Well i have two computers, one's new with windows xp and the other one is really old and i dont think it will cope in running windows xp. Well i had a look on goolge and found that trend chipaway virus somrtimes detects fake viruses when your installing a new operating system. So i went into my computers settings and disabled the virus protection and now it dosn't come up but i still cant install windows 2000 because when i try it says put the windows 2000 install cd in and press enter but it dosn't work. I then have to press f3 to exit the setup.

I posted it to see if anyone else has had this problem when upgrading windows.

Is Windows 2000 a legitimate copy?

There is a simple solution to the "'please insert the windows 2000 professional cd rom into drive A and press enter" error

Fist off....

Secondly...since you downloaded it its not legit and its a copy...Bill Gate wont like it if you try to install something that you got for free when you should have payed a good $300 at the least...I think Cabe's idea is a good shot...try it...

Basically what you are doing is pretty much doing the same as downloading an ISO and putting it on the psp. If you want it to work you may have to buy it...
