Default Sony Ericsson Screen

To all tech. geeks out there!
My brother has a sony ericsson (think thats how you spell it) w800i (i think) and the screen has cracked, he's been on ebay and has found replacement screen, what he wants to know is how to install it, is it a case of unplugging one screen then replaceing it or does it involve any soldering? what he wants is a wiring diagram too for it.

personally i think he's gonna f*** his fone up!

Easy peasy. I took my sister's K750i and turned it into a W800i for her (as they are, internally, exactly the same). In the process I noticed the screen would be quite easy to replace if required. Basic instructions from another site below.

Quote:
Remove the phone's battery. Unscrew the 2 x Philips and the 2 x T6 torx screws you see. Next, gently prise the front cover off the phone. Remove the keypad and backing, levering the part from left to right. Unplug the connector holding this plate to the phone. Remove the two screws holding the screen in place. Lift the screen from the main body of the phone and replace with the new LCD. Reverse the procedure for disassembly and it's finished.
