I'm looking for a new cell phone because mine is just terrible. I'm a Cingular customer. I was thinking of getting the Razr, but my uncle has it and he sais it's not as good as it may seem. Does anyone here know of a Cingular phone that is good? I also saw that the Sony Ericsson Z520a was good, anyone know?

i agree w/ ur uncle. though the razrs are thin, they're still pretty big. (wide and tall). im getting a new phone sometime too. if i were you, id go to their site and check out each of their phones. i like small phones with lots of features. (ex: ringtones, maybe games, and things to keep me entertained)

I am a bit of a mobile phone slag - I got my first mobile back in 1993 and have had close to 40 of them since, including the Razr.
The Razr is a super phone BUT is based upon technology that is over three years old. Hardware wise there is virtually zero difference between it and the V500 - including the measly 5mb of usable memory and the awful VGA camera. However, it has a lovely screen, has one of the loudest ringtone/speakerphone speakers you will hear and still looks stunning. If you like it you could always go for the V3i - it is an updated version but it has a memory card slot and a 1.3 megapixel camera plus a few software tweaks. My friend has one and it is superb. I'm unsure if Cingular do it though. As for Sony Ericsson, these are my favourite manufacturer (and I have owned phones from all of them). One of the phones I currently have is a W800i which is one of the best phone I have ever owned - it's battery life is phenomenal and the camera is as good as you will get. It has just been updated to the W810i - if this is available on Cingular it's the one I would get if I were you.

Yes, Cingular does have the W810i and now that I know someone who has it and likes it I think that's the one I'll get. I could get the new Razr too. I think the V3i is much more expensive though. I don't know, but thanks a lot for the input Pagnell.

No problem, glad I could help. I will say given the choice between the V3i and W810i, I would opt for the Sony Ericsson. Their user interface is by far the best in the business while Motorola's is a little bit behind the times. It hasn't received a major update since they went colour with the V300 nearly four years ago.
