Default Net neutrality

I'm sure many of you have heard of this already. I really think that I will probably die if this actually happens. Basically to give a quick re-cap, currently a lot of the major ISPs are planning on turning the internet into something more like the TV service. What this means is that we will have to pay a certain amount of money to visit certain sites. Otherwise you will have to pay a premium fee, to be able to visit more sites, which totally sucks. Take a look at this.

HAHAHA, so unlikely to happen, honestly, it wont happen lol.

Oh the idea just cracks me up.

Its like the "plan" to fit trackers into all motorbikes that constantly check speed, flopped lol.

Already found a way round that anyway, just use a proxy site. The isp believe you are on that site but the site is showing you the real site you wanna be on. Thats how we get round it at college.

Wont be done. If it is then a way round will be found.

But Kev, what if all the proxys will only be available to the highest package, in which case they won't even matter. Although I also doubt that something like this will happen, mostly because of legal parts, but counting how rich ISPs are, and how much richer they could be if they do this, who knows, anything is possible in this crazy world.

It would probably actually lose ISP's money in the mong term anyways.

People would just stop using the internet then the ISP's would lost money so it would be totally pointless to actually do it.

What'd suck as well is if they turned all ISP into what cellphone companies are, and charged you for every KB you use, which would mean that even loading a non-complicated website like this one would cost quite a bit to look through, yet alone post in.

Actually Time Warner is currently running trials with the same idea in mind.

Theres no way all ISP's will get together and create this kind of Net. Theres too many factions, Hackers, Social Users, People that dont even use it yet that would be put off by the expense, Irregular Users that would kill the ethos of the Net. Which is essentially freedom. If it did happen - in a parallel universe. there would be allsorts of foreign or less equiped ISP's to choose from that wont have the capability to provide IP TV and would make a killing because it would not be forced. Its an option that some people would take, many would not. Theres always a way round it as weve found with many things on the net. Why pay when you can get it for free

LMAO at the idea proxies would only be available on a premium package. Its net underground and that idea is funny as hell. If the Major ISP's did force premium prices on ppl, then these smaller ISP's would not and be laughing all the way to the bank. The consumers rule the Net, and thats not gonna change anytime soon - I could seriously write an essay on this - but I think you just looking to far into it

I'll join Kev in the corner PMSL
