Default Air Intake System

im looking to install a new air intake system in my 2001 Chevy Blazer 4x4. ive been reading up on both cold and warm air intakes, but im not exactly sure on which one to get. as far as i can tell they both increase the effieiency of the car and increase gas mileage, but the warm air decreases power and the cold air increases is. is this really true? im leaning towards the cold air but i dont wanna make a bad decision on it

As far as i was aware, warm or cold air intakes is depending on NOS, i think that affects it. Im not too sure on temperature of air intake that increases performance.

Only logical explanation is that cold air is more dense and therefor carrying more oxygen providing better ignition. Im not a MASSIVE mechanical wizz kid but umm, id say go for the cold air intake.

OOOOH and a turbo lol or supercharger *drools*

yeah go for the cold. as kev said, it's denser and you get better performance.

I think its such a design flaw in cars (i.e. peugeot 306) when the air intake is slapped right on top of the block.

yeah im gonna do the cold air intake. once i get some money.

as for the turbo/supercharger, turbo for sure. supercharger will kill what little gas mileage i already have.

Before you start any project like this do as much research as possible... I bet there is a blazer owners group on the net somewhere and they might have some first hand experience to give you.
