I'm on the edge of london, (Near Heathrow) and I don't think there was any damage done down here. Must've been terrible on the coast though :/

Ryder... the point is England is not normally known for 80+ mph winds so is unprepared for such. You on the other hand are, so it's no biggy for you guys... just like snow is no biggy for us but as we have seen recently on Tv is a biggy for certain parts of the US.

Some of the pictures of the coast in the storm are amazing.

Kev.... different parts of the world are weird... metric and imperial mix and match... Canada is the same as the UK except we do the kph thing here but still measure in lbs and feet as well as metres. I still check the speedo and convert to mph... old habits eh.. the US is mph and therefore have to keep reminding myself that when I drive down there otherwise I am a rolling roadblock hahahahah

Des

I was wondering if you had thought 80kph and not 80 mph, seeing as 80 kph is about 48 mph or so.

What Des said is quite true, for the coastal areas. Built up areas i believe have higher damage withstandability (might not be a word but it is now). So yeah, like my house could withstand those winds, however coastal houses tend to be quite old and not built for that.

And about the big fuss thing, its similar to the big fuss you lot make over lightning. I remember one time we was in the swimming pool round a friends house in florida during a lightning storm. It was soo cool.

However, lets not start a "English suck" discussion like i have on LIVE like everyday lol

Just to be sure, I didn't mean any disrespect to you guys who took the storm by the horns, I was just curious as to why you guys were reacting as such to 80Mph winds. And yeah Kev, here in Florida the second somebody sees lightning like every single pool gets shut down. The beaches do too! The entire beach!

Yes you would, we're not metric. I thought that you guys were metric, so did you mean kph Des? If so, that's about 150 mph... I think...

lol im lost, so bamhm are you saying that you measure in KPH? If so then 80mph is about 140kph. Eitherways, 80mph winds is still very strong, obviously not compared to the 200 mph winds hurricains can produce, but still, i wouldnt like to be holding my umbrella in the middle of that lol.

Ryder, i didnt take any offence to that, im not too sure why its all a big deal either tbh, the earthquake earlier this month done more damage.
