I think so, certain brands are so good they just become synonimous with the product and almost become a generic term for a product.
When you think get a cut you look for a Band-Aid (not a bandage), when you need to clean your ears you get a Qtip (not a cotton swab), when you want to skate around the block you look for your RollerBlades (not your in-line skates), and when you want to quench your thirst you reach for a Coke (not a cola). The reason these brands are thought of in this way is because they are the best, they are quality and they represent the entire product. The same thing's happening for MP3 players. When people think of an MP3 player they think of an iPod. |

I'm also Anti-Ipod. I would go with the Sansa (thats the one my friend has, just the 4GB version). If you are willing to do some more research, look into Creative Zen. I have their hard drive based player (Vision: M), but they have lots of flash based ones, that go up to 32GB of memory now O.O

I have a 1st Gen Zune and I'm just waiting on my 2nd Gen Zune arriving. Cost me £160 and it has an 80Gb HD, Radio, Wifi syncing and music transfer, much bigger screen than the iPods.
Good stuff. Also someone I know has one of those SanDisk players and they just 'feel' tacky. If you know what I mean. P.S. Hello everyone =) Merry Xmas and a happy new year
