there are several newbie installers out there, there is one that kev mentions and has a link to in his tutorial, its the one i use, its just to create tha magic mem stick. The battery, if you do not have a psp on CFW already can be turned into a pandora (or service battery).
Do this by pulling pin 5 on the battery, (oh by the way, make sure its the right battery, the PSP-110 batteries will work. As long as at the bottom right corner of the sticker, on the back of the Battery, it says, 2-581-225-03, or if all you have is a new 2200mAH it will work also as long as in the same place as before it says, 2-637-269-11, if it says something like CGA-****, it will not work, they are missing the micro-controller you need). Use a exacto knife or razor to break the seal on the battery, slowly and carefully remove the the two halfs off each other, then on the circuit board look for the letters "IC04" it will be right next to a little chip, on that chip will be 8 pins, find pin 5, pin 5 should be the bottom right pin as you stare down at the circuit board, pull pin 5 using a sewing needle, by sliding it under the pin, (becarefull not to make contact with any other pin, or any other micro-controller or diode on the board!) then pull up and to the right, this will break that pin free from the board. Once that is done, put the battery back together and you are now are in posession of a Service Battery! (it does the exact same thing as Pandora minus all the software install and stuff Pandora has you do!) And yes this can be reversed to turn your battery back to a normal battery but it will require soldering that pin back to the board, so make sure you have an extra battery. Then use your normal Battery, and your PSP, to make your stick by downloading and running this program here..... File Details-TOTALNewbi-easyInstaller-PSP-Tools-Utilities-(on-PC) - Just make sure the program is extracted to your desktop, then open the folder and click on the "START" icon, and follow the on screen instructions. Then enjoy CFW. (this stick, after created, will install 3.71 m33-1, if you use option 4, when prompted.) Please make sure you do a format using your PSP, before using the program, and you must have a stick that is 512mb or but no larger than 4gb. I used 1gb with no problems. a full length, step by step, tutorial will be coming soon, I am slowly working on it, to include pictures of the circuit board from the 2 most common types of battery circuit boards. Sorry I havent posted one yet. Last edited by tergazzi; 01-12-2008 at 01:28 AM. |
