What you must remember is that upgrading custom firmware is completely reversible, so you can quite easily go back to 3.40 OE.

Kev
Every time I upgrade/downgrade there is a risk (however small it may be) that it will damage/brick my PSP. If there is a significant advantage to upgrading to the latest CFW, such as a decent flash player (as if that will ever happen), then I might consider it. Also, how much homebrew works on the latest CFW and can you play backups like on 3.40oea?

Remember, your on CF now, so upgrading and bricking isnt a problem. Even in the event of a brick the recovery menu can be accessed to re flash the firmware.

yo kev, would it be a good idea to backup flash (0) up to (3) to my pc and then copy it back in the unlikely event of a brick?

Ive got most of the other stuff sussed out with regards to most things, but ive got no idea about flash, flashing etc. except for what those dodgy men with long coats do in parks at schoolgirls. So thats my next little challenge.

Not wearing a long coat, just flashing. cos im scared ****less of rendering it useless, ill take some solace from the fact youve said its nire impossible

As for the news 3.80 M33 is gonna be out... i think ill throw a little tea party, just me and my PSP.... More tea Phatty?

Edit: why am i still a newbie? Ive got my GCSE certificate in CFW

Yeah, even if you are not thinking of upgrading you should still have an original copy of your flash backed up on the PC.

I appreciate your acknowledgement of what i do but im afraid i do have a life outside this forum which is far more important.

At the moment im taking exams so i spend all my time revising. Its all over by next monday so i will look into it then. Also, i broke my psp so testing it out is going to take longer than usual.

I will complete it in the near future, just not quite now.
