Hello I have 2.6 and when I use SNESX 9 thru eLoader the games run a little slow. Yes my clock speed is @ 333 Mhz and my FPS skiprate is set @ 2 also I have turned off transparency. For example, when I play F-Zero, all of these settings are put into use and still the game is running about 25 percent slower than it's meant to run (relative to the timer in F-Zero). I had uo_SNES9x (which was slower) and tried to amp up the graphics speed, that just slowed it down even more. Ya think that a 333 Mhz CPU can handle a 16 bit game? This blows my mind. Is it because GTA is playing in the background or something? Are there any solutions or improved emulators?
Thnx in advance ![]() |

This is a common problem with homebrew on firmwares above V1.5 - it is because the emulator needs to be run in user memory. This and general compatibility are the reasons V1.5 is still the best for homebrew.

yup and the reason it runs slower is because the PSP has to emulate the processer for the 16-bit games although there is a difference between 1.5 to 2.0 and above like pagnel said it cant use the fill ram(memory) of the PSP because kernal mode is blocked

so i guess SNES is as far up as i can go, if i want some decent gameplay. i would reckon that the GBA would go painfully even slower. is there a list of non-kernel emulators out there? i was gonna try sega genesis, but that's pushin it, i think.
