I have purchased my PSP over eBay at this specific link below:

It clearly states in its description:

IT IS A LIMITED 1.5 FIRMWARE VERSION WHICH ALLOWS YOU TO DROP+DRAG ISO FILES(GAMES) DIRECTLY ONTO THE MEMORY STICK AND PLAY THEM.

THESE 1.5 UNITS ARE VERY RARE AND NOT IN PRODUCTION ANY LONGER, THERE THE ONES EVERYONE IS LOOKING FOR.

PSP'S WITH VERSION 1.51 UPWARDS ARE UNABLE TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THESE FEATURES.

Unfortunately i went to check my System Information to find out its Software Version and it turns out to be 2.5 and not 1.5. Should i have the patience and wait until a downgrader for 2.5 comes out or try my best to return the item and get my money back?

It's part of the question, he's not asking anything about it or how to run/find such things. He precised why he wanted it.

As for OP, you should try to get your money back. I don't think they'll release a downgrader any soon for 2.5+
