Would it be possible to make your PSP into a TV remote?

With cool graphic buttons representing different channels etc.

it is possible yes, as the psp has an infrared port, the PDA things have programs for remotes, there was a post on this before have a look around i cant think were it was.

I used to have a PDA with this sort of thing. But the Infared was not strong enough. You had to get a clipon infared adaptor for the beam to travel more than a couple of metres. HP later bought out a model with 'consumer grade(?!)' infared capability built in.

I wonder how powerful the beam on the PSP is? What is is chiefly designed for. Presumedly transfering data from one PSP to another?

the infrared port was small...

cant compare to the TV's remote.

Mmm A TVremote becomes a bit pointless if you have to walk up to the TV and hold it couple of metres from the screen. Maybe someone will bring out a high powered clip on thingy?

Anyone got any real-life experience of the scope of the IR port on their PSP?

Or just pick up the tv remote next to you and use that, honestly :roll:
