    PSP malfunction? Skips name input..

    Hi, okay, I have a slim PSP model, the one that came with the Daxter bundle. Anyways, whenever I go into a game and it want's me to enter a name for the character or whatever, it simply skips it, without me even pressing anything.

    I tried a system restore and it came across to where I enter a name, and it skipped that as well. I do not know what the heck is wrong with it. Another thing I noticed is if I have a game on and I press the menu button, it won't let me go left or right or click X to select yes or no to go to the main menu or stay in the game. It will simply act as if I'm still in the game and control in the game even though I pressed the menu button. X_x

    However, at the main menu when I'm not in a game, the buttons and pad work fine. (I have tested the name thing on more than one game, the same result.)

    save important data to your PC, then try formatting the MS with the PSP.

    Let us know if it works out

    MS = Memory Stick

    PSP = Playstation Portable

    There is an option to format your MS in the system settings on the XMB (menu)

    be aware this will erase all your data from the memory stick. so back up important files to your PC before formatting.

    This may work, and it may not. If not. Some one more knowledgable can help you

    I don't think the ms is the problem. It would still skip the name entering screen even without a ms in.

    Also, I cleared stuff off of the ms to fit the newest psp update. No avail with that fixing the menu skip either. I really don't know what the problem is. X_x

    I might end up selling the PSP with other stuff and I'd rather it be working properly, if anyone else has something for me to try, please let me know. Thank you.

    Whenever I press a button somewhere on the home menu area, it works fine. None of them seem to repeat themselves at all.
