PSP GO as an MP3 player, short review!

    Hey all!

As you may know the PSP GO is a very pocket friendly device and is very handy to use as an mp3 player when walking/ using public transportation etc.
I've been using my psp go as MP3 player for about 2-3 weeks now, and want to share some impressions with you guys, both good and the not so good.

I also play games and whatch movies/series on it :P but thats usually at home/longer trips or in breaks at work etc.

    The good

    - Sound quality is really crisp and clear on the device, and mp3 files in 320 kbps is very nice combination with a good headset, I use Koss Porta Pro at the moment, which is strong on bass and music sounds nice when played at a higher volume. It Also sounds good when plugged into stereo speakers.

    - Its fast! Omg, alot of flashbased mp3 players out there but most of them need a half a second or two to start up an mp3, and you get a little delay when changing a song. However on the PSP GO this is done instantly, very impressive.

    - User friendly, although its up to you to organize your files and making folders etc, i found making folders for each artist and just choosing the one i want and hit play.

    - Senseme, a good application that lets you pick a mood and it will play music according to you mood. I personally prefer just to access the mp3 files from the system storage folder. But senseme is a smart application with a really cool visual look.

    The not so good

    - No EQ, please correct me if I'm wrong but i cant find any sort of EQ in the music player, or the sensme app. It's a bit dissapointing knowing your files play on flat settings.

    - Hold button, before i slip my PSP in my pocket I put in on hold, when i take it back out I put it off hold. But what experienced alot of times here is If I drag too much, it goes to sleepmode or standbymode and thats annoying. I'm not saying this happens all the time, but every now and then. They should have made a separate hold button and placed it somewhere else.

    - No music playing in the background, It would have been nice having your own music playing while you play a game, surf the web, but i bet that takes up too much of the prossesing speed.

    - Almost impossible to use with one hand, well this is no surprise since its a gaming system meant for two hands, I just found it hard to drink my coffe and changing songs on it at the same time while walking :P It did work but I almost dropped it... which isnt that good :P

All in all i recommend the PSP GO for use as an mp3 player, it performs just as well as any other mp3 player, but with better sound quality, extremely fast song skipping, and an overall easy interface. Battery life is also decent for this kind of use.

Yeah know what you mean about the hold button. It is all technique though and you will get the hang of it

I use mine as a music player too and it does pretty well.
