If you're at all familiar with the series I would definitely recommend it. If you've never played any of the previous games the story might be hard to follow though.

If you haven't played previous MGs though I would recommend Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror. It isn't necessary to play the previous games in the series to enjoy it, and it is (imo) of nearly the same quality as MGS: PO. Both of those games are quality stealth action games. I also hear Syphon Filter: Logan's Shadow is great, but you have to play Dark Mirror first as it picks up where DM leaves off.

Ratchet and Clank is good times, definitely recommended.

As for you kern, are you asking about MGS? I think you are, so to answer your question I would say it would definitely help you get the most out of Portable Ops if you played all the previous games. You can probably play it and understand it for the most part, but you would miss out on a lot of the in-jokes and nuances.

You really can't go wrong with trying to find some used copies of 2 and 3. They are really some of the best gaming experiences I've ever had.

I see that u r playing NFS series, i recommend u to buy juiced 2 if u r into racing as it have all new drifting event, it's very good actually, way better that NFS series. Good graphic and gameplay. As for MGS, it's individual, some might like and some not. Try it first. MGS is indeed a very good quality game, if u r into stealth game, u r bound to get glued for hours...

I'm playing Silent Hill Origin rite now, and I can say, is a very great game albeit sometime scared the sh*t out of me. Good graphic and gameplay.

Well, I haven't tried it on the PS3 yet either. /sarcasm

j/k it isn't out on the PS3 yet, but the PSP version's about the same as the PS1 and PS2 games.
