It would be brilliant if the psp could play Sonic.

It can perfectly on the emulator Dgen. You can't because you upgraded your PSP to 2.71 - a schoolboy error.

And will you stop with these stupid polls - you can ask a question without turning it into a poll.

you must stop with youre hacking. so what if i hav updated it. i dont care. but isn't this supposed to be legal. and if people keep hacking then we may never get any decent free stuff from Sony then we will be forced to pay for our upgrades. and dont you dare critise me.n't think its right what you are doing. how do i now its not u causing psp's to be bricked. you should encourage people not to hack.

So playing a 15 year old game through an emulator is 'hacking'? Are you talking about the game or using the ability to play homebrew on the PSP? Either way you are both talking rubbish. Are you trying to tell me we should only use a superb machine like the PSP as Sony sees fit? They must love you! Their ideal customers - mindless drones who buy the games but ignore the enormous potential the console has to offer in other areas because it's not what they want the console used for. Luckily, most other PSP owners out there aren't so limited in their thinking, hence the popularity of the 2.5/2.6 downgrader.

And it's not commercial PSP ISOs we are talking about here, it's homebrew. I suggest you check out the difference - one is illegal and one (most of the time) isn't.

just because it's legal doesn't mean it's not hacking. You work at computers you should know. You are bypassing security to run unauthorised code/software.

EDIT: I already have the ability to run emulators on my laptop and I never play them, hence no need for them on PSP.

So you would never do anything that required bending of the rules or using something in a way the manufacturer didn't intend? You must lead a very boring life.

But the fact you are evidently not into homebrew or emulators might go some way to explaining your opinion on this.

I don't involve myself with anything illegal first off. If I was into emulators and homebrew I would downgrade (after looking into whats actually going on and investigating the safety of using it to prevent bricking my PSP). Your misplacing hacking as a bad term for illegal activity, I was stating no matter what spin you put on homebrew being legal etc, you are still hacking your PSP. Hacking isn't bad, I own Football Manager for my Laptop yet I run a hack on it so I don't have to load the cd, its not illegal as I own the game, but its handy cause I don't want to have to bring the CD everywhere.

As I have all the emulators already on my laptop and don't play them often I have drawn a conclusion that it would be no different on PSP. I bought my PSP to play new games and listen to music on train jorneys.

As for me leading a boring life, thats your opinion, its not a very valid one since you barely know me and your basing this on me not playing emulators (which in my opinion is boring as I have already played these games before)

You make it sound like we are talking about robbery or driving while over the limit. You seem to be taking this very seriously and if you choose not to use the PSP to it's full potention then that's your choice. Just don't imply that someone who chooses to run software not sanctioned by Sony is a criminal.
