PURSUIT FORCE
PlayStation Portable Sony Racing / Driving, Action 8 Apr 05 Proving that the PSP will be home to all manner of new ideas is Pursuit Force, the latest game to take its first tentative steps from Sony's womb. A genre blending ****tail of speed and action, Pursuit Force is doing things we've never seen before, crazy things, exciting things. Plot wise, things are pretty simple. You're a cop, one of the elite, eponymous Pursuit Force. You chase wrong doers around a whole state with some 400km of roads to navigate at high speed. No, faster than that. Highspeed, then. There will be some five different gangs to deal with spread over 30 different missions and five distinct areas. That's one area per gang, maths fans. But how does it play? Imagine Burnout 3. Imagine all the speed, all the lush visuals, all the seat of your pants, oh-my-god-I'm-going-to-die adrenaline explosion in your animal brain. Then, imagine you can steal others cars. Not while they're stopped at the lights, oh no, that would be far too easy and far too boring. Imagine if you could steal other cars during the race itself. Crikey. The crazy here is in the mid chase transfer from car to car. You can just jump out of your speeding, nitrous boosted monster and land on another ludicrously fast car driven by the perps. Then you beat them up while clinging to the outside of their speedmobile, get in and drive it yourself. It's as natural as the sun in the sky. It's not just cars either, there's a full range of bikes to jump off of/on to at inappropriate times. It's a danger junkie's fix a million times over. And once again, the PSP is amazing us with its power and beauty. There's no doubting the quality of the graphics in this title, truly up to the standard of the PS2 and perhaps even beyond. And how long has the PSP been around? It all points to an exceptionally bright future. With the PSP showing power a plenty and already offering unique and interesting games a plenty. http://www.gamerankings.com/itemrank...eviewid=483966 http://www.gamespot.com/psp/driving/...s_6118804.html |
