Default Is Wipeout Pure playable online in the UK?

I've just got a wireless router and configured it all fine, can browse online, etc no problem.

When I go to play Wipeout online my connection is greyed out.

I called Sony expecting that I'd just set my security too high or something, but they said that no games are playable online in the UK at the moment?? Is that correct? Seems odd to me!!

I was expecting to be able to race other Wipeout owners over the internet?

Any insight would be appreciated.

I would also just like to add how overwhelmingly happy I am with my PSP and the games I have (Everybody's Golf, Ridge Racer and Wipeout Pure) I plan to get Burnout, GTA and soooooooo much more, especially Pro Evo 5!

Everyone I've shown my PSP too wants one, it helps I got it the day after my holiday, loaded my holiday pictures on to it then took it around to show friends and relatives my holiday snaps! What a great tool!!

Wipeout cannot be played over the internet. Only with other PSPs in the same room, in 'ad hoc' mode.

Wipeout can, however, download new tracks and ships. It helps if you have previously configured an internet connection ie. for browsing.

Wipeout can use this connection to download the Gamma Pack if you haven't done so already. You will need approx 14-15Mb spare on your memory stick for the extra game content. It makes up a little for the lack of online play.
