Default Ridge Racers or Rivals?

I put down the preorder for Ridge Racers at EBGames today, but NFSURivals looks really good, I already have NFSU2 on my XBox but I like being able to customize my car and such, like change the graphics and stuff. But I have also heard RR is really good.

Do you think EB would let me move my preorder to something else?

Dont see why they wouldnt. :P I prefer Ridge Racers just because I dont know if NFS has a drift ability, and I hate driving in walls or being forced to slow down, its nice to just swing around turns. :P Id go by music choices really, in which case Id rather have NFS's cool full rap songs because Ridge Racers cool, upbeat techno music is fun at first but some of the crap is just so funky. XD

I've not played NFSU Rivals yet but have ordered it as I've only had Ridge racers for about a week and it's already becomming boring, don't get me wrong it's a good game but it's just a little tedious after a few days of playing. So if I were you I'd go with NFSU Rivals.

NFSU Rivals has an extremely large amount of Japanese text, both in menu's and sub-menu's.

Ridge Racers is 99% in English, which makes it a far more import friendly title.

Also, both games are considerably different, while existing in the same "genre".

Ridge Racers is an all out arcade racer, with a large career mode.

NFSU Rivals doesn't have as much depth as Ridge Racers, but it does bring the Underground franchise to the PSP very well. As I said, the Japanese text could well be a barrier.

I would be getting the US version, and I've already got it on pre-order.

If you cant read any Japanese get Ridge Racers.

IMHO Ridge Racers is actually the easier game. With all this car modding, drifting, circuit and drag racing, NFSU takes a while to complete. A lot longer than RR.

It's hardly 99% english, the only english is the first menu and the in game screen ie lap times etc mor like 70% japanese, however it is very easy to find your way around the game after a while

The menu's show pictures to go with the Japanese text, so it's easy to understand. All games modes however, are clearly marked in English.

And I'm sorry, but you're wrong about the in-game display.

Top Left:

Position (English)
Lap Record (English)
Total Time (English)

Top Right:

Map
Lap Time (English, with 3 entries for lap times)

Pause Menu: Japanese

Top: Continue
Middle: Restart
Bottom: Exit (sub menu: Are You Sure - Top: Yes. Bottom: No)

The only "in-game" Japanese is on the Pause Menu. Lap Times in-game are displayed in English.
